Long noncoding RNAs play critical roles in cellular homeostasis, and long RNA H19 (H19) is implicated several pathologic conditions. The putative role of the pathogenesis progression hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) not yet understood. Therefore, a series vivo vitro experiments were designed to investigate potential neuronal apoptosis cognitive dysfunction HIBD. expression was decreased HIBD rat models established by partial occlusion carotid artery. bound miR-107, which also increased VEGF expression. overexpression reduced alleviated rats. up-regulation miR-107 reversed protective effects conferred H19. In addition, cell model oxygen-glucose deprivation cells used. neurons B-cell lymphoma-2 lymphoma-2–associated X, total cleaved caspase-3 expressions. Taken together, results showed that expresses at low level expression, resulted repressed dysfunction. Thus, may serve as molecular target for translational research therapy. MiR-103 regulates the angiogenesis of ischemic stroke rats by targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)

Objective(s): To investigate the effect of miR-103 on the angiogenesis of ischemic stroke rats via targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) at the molecular level. Materials and Methods: Rat models had received the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) or sham operation before grouping, and cell models of oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) were performed. FITC-dextran, matrigel, and ...

Adenovirus-mediated lung vascular endothelial growth factor overexpression protects against hypoxic pulmonary hypertension in rats.

Chronic hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (PH) is associated with vasoconstriction and structural remodeling of pulmonary vessels including narrowing of the arterial lumen and loss of distal functional arteries. To test whether lung overexpression of the angiogenic factor vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is beneficial in hypoxic PH, recombinant adenovirus encoding the human VEGF 165 gene ...

Adipose Tissue Overexpression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Protects Against Diet-Induced Obesity and Insulin Resistance

During the expansion of fat mass in obesity, vascularization of adipose tissue is insufficient to maintain tissue normoxia. Local hypoxia develops and may result in altered adipokine expression, proinflammatory macrophage recruitment, and insulin resistance. We investigated whether an increase in adipose tissue angiogenesis could protect against obesity-induced hypoxia and, consequently, insuli...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Production is Regulated by Gene Polymorphisms

Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has a key role in angiogene-sis and in transplantation. The level of VEGF is related to the differences in the DNA sequence of its promoter region. Objectives: In this study, the association between the combination of VEGF –1154 G and –2578 C alleles and VEGF production by LPS-stimulated PBMCs was investigated. In addition; the relationship ...

Long noncoding RNA H19 derived miR-675 regulates cell proliferation by down-regulating E2F-1 in human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

The long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) H19 has been proven to be overexpressed in human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). H19-induced PDAC cell proliferation is cell cycle-dependent by modulating E2F-1. However, the mechanism of how H19 regulates E2F-1 remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the expression of miR-675 in PDAC tumours and cells, the biological function of miR-675 in PDAC ...
